Established 2009 in York, it all began in a small corner of an antiques centre in York. Formerly known as Lampshade Living, Jeanette and Vicky (Mum and Daughter) were able to share their creativity combining their passion for William Morris, traditional methods, modern techniques and those three little words.....design, colour and pattern. In 2017 our Etsy shop proved very successful leading us to create our own website and Carbon Velvet was born.
We are extremely proud to have commissioned lampshades for Kings College in Cambridge, interior designers, boutique hotels, restaurants and heritage period properties.
Attention to detail is paramount to our success ensuring every lampshade is made to the highest standard. We use local suppliers and support global eco friendly businesses to source only the best fabrics, hand made materials, and recycled products.
